BIG Day for McDowell County

“This is a big day for McDowell County ,” ESI Vice President Clayton Walton said, in presenting a $1 million check to the County Commission . The check was part of contractual agreement with ESI, the company that has already spent $24 million building the state-of-the-art landfill. “We're glad to be partners with McDowell County . This was made possible by leaders like you.”

Commissioner Carl Urps thanked ESI for their investment. “On behalf of the citizens of McDowell County , we thank you,” Urps said.

County Commission President Gordon Lambert explained that the money would most likely be set aside for development and to insure that county employees always have health insurance.
