Landlord Training Seminar is Slated

If you hope to rent your property to incoming construction workers and prison personnel, the Landlord Training Seminar is for you. Find out about tenant selection leases, insurance, property management and financial record keeping – all the facts needed to become a successful and responsible landlord. Bring your questions.

Travel Beautiful Appalachia (TBAI), in conjunction with the McDowell County EDA, will sponsor the training Wednesday, November 8, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Starland Heights Community Room, Kimball.

The seminar fee is $20, which will defray the cost of instructional materials. Seating is limited, so call now to reserve your spot. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Trainers for the Landlord Seminar include Cathy Rose, SHED Director with experience in local property management; Becky Abel, TBAI VISTA Volunteer with 30 years experience in real estate investment and property management.

“We are very anxious to give people a good start in being responsible landlords with practical information about having their property ready to rent, selecting good tenants, and preventing legal problems,” said Rose.

“I'm very interested in helping people understand all the financial aspect to help them run their property like a business,” Abel added.

TBAI is a non-profit organization that promotes economic development opportunities to McDowell , Wyoming , and Mercer County residents.
